I saw Lisa speak at a local event and shortly afterwards invited her to work with my team. Lisa has a way of mixing compassion with strong boundaries. She reminds us as leaders to be understanding and show compassion but not to lower our expectations of ourselves or our teams. Even when she is reminding you of something that you might have forgotten to do as a leader she does it with no judgement. Instead, reminding us that we are all human and will do better when we know better. She shares personal stories of when things went well and when they didn’t. Knowing that she can recover from a mistake gives her listeners the confidence to do the same

I have come a long way. When I first started public speaking, I spoke quickly, quietly and got off that stage as soon as possible. Enter Toastmasters. Now I can stand on a stage, drop my script and speak for 20 minutes off the cuff on so many topics but my favourites all have to do with leadership. Both leading yourself and whatever teams you happen to be leading (whether they give you the title or not).

I love listening to a great story and love sharing a great story as well. I always remember a good story and that’s how I like to share the lessons I have learned in life.

Topics include:

  • Difficult Conversation
  • From Recruitment through Termination, with Emotional Intelligence.
  • Finding Balance
  • Myths of Management
  • My healing journey and how it relates to leadership
  • The importance of mindset

Leadership

Would it surprise you to know that “Managing, Supervising, and Leading” are skills that have nothing to do with your age? Stepping into a Supervisor/Manager/Leader role is not always easy. You go from doing the work, to motivating and inspiring others to do the work.

Speaking

Coaching

Having a coach is having someone in our corner that you can discuss anything with. A coach is held to the same level of confidentiality you are. You have everything that you need, a coach just helps you to find your wisdom and remind you of the skills you already possess.
